New Students login information will be imported into the new parking portal in July before permits are on sale. This allows students to get their housing assignments established to purchase the correct permit.
2024-25 Yearly Student Permit Sales
Permits will be on sale beginning in July 2024 according to your housing assignment. Specific dates are listed below. Permits are sold on a first come, first served basis.

How to Purchase Your Permit
- Sign in to the ISU Parking Portal (after July 1), from your Okta logins or on the Parking Division Website.
- Click "Login Here with Net ID"
- At the top, click the "permit" icon
- Select your desired permit. If the permit you want is not displayed, it is either sold out or you are not eligible for it.
- On the right hand side of the page, click "Add New Vehicle" and enter accurate information for license plate, vehicle make, color and type of vehicle. Model and VIN are not required.
- You may only add 1 vehicle. Contact the parking office if you have a motorcycle in addition to a vehicle.
- Select your vehicle
- Select the address displayed. DO NOT add a new address. The address displayed in imported from University systems.
- Read through the agreement and click "Accept Agreement"
- At the top right hand corner of the page, click "Add to Cart"
- Click the "Cart" icon at the top of the page.
- Select the payment type and click "Accept Agreement"
- At the top right hand corner of the page click "check out"
- You will receive an email with your virtual permit information. There will be no physical permits.
- Permits are effective at the start of classes.

Football Home Games
Stadium permit holders are required to move their vehicles by midnight before every home football game. See the Weekend Parking Map for information on where you can move your vehicle beginning Friday at 5:30pm.

ParkMobile on ISU Campus
Some areas on campus including the large pre-pay lots by Lied Recreation Center, East Campus Parking Deck and Lot 21 by the Armory have switched to cashless payments only through ParkMobile. ParkMobile can be used to pay for meters on ISU campus and in the City of Ames. Some single space meters still allow cash and smart card payment.
