Obtaining an ISU Medical Permit
Required Documentation
- You must present a Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) Placard to obtain an ISU Medical Permit.
- Letters from doctors or physicians are no longer accepted.
Special Circumstances
- If you cannot obtain a state-issued accessible placard, explain your situation on the request form.

Where to Get Your Medical Permit
- ISU Medical Permits are available at the Parking Office, 27 Armory Building (2519 Osborn Drive).
- You must bring your D.O.T. Medical Permit to the office to get the ISU Medical Permit.
Fees
- There is a fee for obtaining an ISU Medical Permit if you don't already have a permit.

Where You Can Park
- Medical Spaces: Excluding personalized reserved stalls
- Metered Spaces: Up to 2 hours without paying
- General Staff Lots: Valid all day
- Vendor Stalls: Up to 2 hours
- Loading Zones: Up to 2 hours

- You need both an ISU Medical Permit and a D.O.T. placard to park in ADA or medical stalls on campus.
Fines for Illegal Parking
- The fine for parking illegally in a medical stall is $200.
- These stalls are enforced 24 hours a day, every day.
